Our History

Initially, the Careers2B program was a pilot cooperative work experience program founded in 2007 by Greg Babe, president and CEO, Bayer Corporation and Bayer MaterialScience LLC and Joyce Bender, president and CEO, Bender Consulting Services.  After several years of continued success, the Careers2B program was officially launched in 2012.

Lack of work experience has been identified as a major and systemic barrier to employment for individuals with disabilities.  The objective of Careers2B is for people with disabilities to gain the work experience required to increase their marketability to prospective employers.

Today, Careers2B continues to grow.   Bayer Corporation continues to be a sponsor company and hosts individuals with disabilities in reserved positions.  In 2011, Highmark joined the program as a sponsor company as well.  Program graduates have been hired by employers, such as Federated Investors, EEOC, Highmark, Center for Victims, Bayer Corporation, Pomeroy,  InnoSource, and Bender Consulting Services.   Careers2B participants gain experience in professional positions such as business analyst, applications developer, SAP master data analyst, financial analyst,  IT service desk associate, and HR assistant.
