Addressing a National Need

The statistics tell us that there is a national need to increase the representation of people with disabilities in the American workforce.  Over 70 percent of people with disabilities, who are working age are considered by the Bureau of Labor Statistics to be outside the labor force.  For people with disabilities included in the labor force, as of March 2013, the unemployment rate was 13.1%.  Many of these individuals have marketable career training and/or associates, bachelors or masters degrees.  A barrier to gaining a career opportunity is lack of work experience.  The Careers2B Program helps talented people with disabilities gain the work experience employers are seeking.   It is not only people with disabilities, who benefit from the Careers2B Program, Sponsor  Companies and Hiring Companies also gain from participation in this initiative.
